Detailed caption of how to get it back to your original color hither.

I had naturally brown pilus, simply I've been dying my hair cherry-red using Schwarzkopf XXL Real Ruddy for the past year or and then, and even though I loved it at first, I'm getting a flake fed up of information technology now.

I was merely wondering if anyone knew of any ways to get back to my original colour?

Delight assist!

Advice from the thread:

wait for the ginger to settle in (as information technology inevitably does Image) and and so whip out the brownish dye. Information technology may take a couple of gos, but that'south still probably cheaper than the hairdressers!

Color remover messes up your pilus. Just find a dye close to your natural hair colour, use it and permit your hair abound out.

hate to tell y'all but in one case you've dyed your hair red fifty-fifty when you dye back over information technology the red will notwithstanding come up through a fleck, the best matter to exercise would be to get it stripped, my mom owns a salon on she offers this treatment and likewise 1 that merely strips artificial colour so it'due south kinder to your hair

It's too dark a red to just dye back to brown, information technology'd but go darker, and I want it a light kind of brown.

Could go to a salon and get your hair 'stripped' though I suspect thats pretty costly. Other than that, wait till the colour has lost its vibrancey and perhaps effort a toner to bring information technology back to a dark-brown?

Yeah, I didn't really want to go to the hairdressers to get information technology done, cause I know it can price a lot D;
Thanks, I'll effort that

I've had red pilus for 4 years and have notwithstanding to grow bored of it. :awesome:

Merely yeah, look for the ginger to settle in (as information technology inevitably does :emo:) and then whip out the chocolate-brown dye. It may take a couple of gos, but that's still probably cheaper than the hairdressers!

awesome! thanks

I put a passion red colour on it was wild, went to hairdresses had a color on to tone it downward, wondering if i put a brown on would information technology have, and fancy brown

Get a hairdresser to bleach it. I had to have mine bleached to go the black out

Yous take two options;
1. Bleach your hair
2. Grow it out with lighter colours each time

Let me explicate....
When you dye your pilus molecules of hair dye and permeated into each strand of your hair, and box bought dyes like the ones you've been using permeate deep down into each strand. This means that between dying your hair your natural colour never comes through, as the color molecules actually colour a lot more of each strand than you can see.

So dying your whole head of hair each time your root come though ways that you will have a proficient 6months of pilus dye molecules on your pilus in your scalp, and so the red pigment will be there for that period of time.

Cherry-red is notorious to remove, I've been at that place myself!

Bleaching your hair will turn it orange, recollect fanta orangish (not even joking) and will damage a practiced inch of your ends. So with bleaching you would need some length taking off your hair too, well unless you desire a mass of split ends! Don't attempt and bleach your own hair, yous should always let a salon do information technology every bit so much can get wrong with the procedure and I'm sure you don't want to risk losing your hair. Plainly once it is bleached you can and so dye over it but your hair will be in a really bad condition.
Bleaching is a quick fix, but it volition take atleast two bleach applications to remove the red paint, and even then you volition take brassy undertones.

The other option takes a lot longer, but means you don't damage your pilus.
For this y'all let your roots grow out as much as you can handle (for me it was most 2 months with fast growing hair). Once y'all've grown them out to an inch or and so you and then get your roots, and roots only dyed, and dyed one shade lighter on the colour chart to your dyed pilus colour.
You can't tell any much unlike between the 2 colours and so it'south doesn't look atrocious, but it will stop a build up of different colour molecules.
You repeat this growing out and dying a shade lighter until your roots are a colour y'all desire them to be, which by this point you volition demand to loose some length to your hair. Once y'all've had some length off yous could then dye your whole caput the color of your roots.

Whoah that was long winded and rambly, but I thought it might be if apply to you.
I always enquire tons of questions when I go my hair dyed at the salon so have sort of picked up a lot of the scientific discipline behind hair colour along the way haha
